Write for speaking

Use short sentences, familiar words and visible paragraph breaks. Write the way you speak, then remove phrases you would never say out loud.

Set a comfortable pace

Start slower than you expect and leave space between ideas. A pace that feels calm to the speaker usually feels more confident to the viewer.

Keep your eyes near the lens

Place the text as close to the camera as possible and use a large enough type size to read without squinting. Small eye movements are less noticeable than constant glances away.

Record in short sections

Do not force one perfect take. Recording in clear sections makes retakes easier and gives the final edit natural places to cut.
